The Castle Rock Farmers Market continues to bring you fresh fruits, vegetables, and breads throughout the fall. The market will be held every Saturday in Wilcox Square. Come out and enjoy delicious, locally grown food and take advantage of the low prices.
Starlight Summer Movie Series
September 1st
Between Wilcox and Perry
On September 1st, the Starlight Summer Movie Series will be presenting its last film of the season, “RV”. Staring Robin Williams, Jeff Daniels, and Cheryl Hines, the movie is a comedy about a father who shelves plans for a Hawaiian vacation to take his family on an adventurous RV trip to Colorado. The film will be shown at nightfall between Wilcox and Perry streets, and will be preceded by a street festival. The series is sponsored by the Castle Rock Merchants Association. Castle Rock Artfest

Castle Rock Town Hall
The 18th annual Castle Rock Artfest will feature over 180 artists from across the country, continuous live stage entertainment, and a children’s imagination zone. The event is expected to attract over 25,000 participants. This year’s musical acts will be highlighted by the return of the popular jazz band Dostero and country band Palmer Divide. Local brewery Rockyard Brewing will be on hand to provide refreshments, while a wide variety of food vendors will cater to the audience’s culinary needs. On Saturday, a silent auction will be hosted by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. Bidding will start at 1 P.M and close at 3 P.M on Sunday. All proceeds will benefit the Castle Rock Community Art Fund.
NOTE: The location of this year’s festival has moved south three blocks from Wilcox Square in downtown Castle Rock to The Castle Rock Town Hall and Philip S. Miller Library Parking lots. Admission to the event is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free to children under 12. Complimentary Parking is provided at the Douglas County Fairgrounds with shuttle service to the festival entrance. NO Pets or Outside Food or Beverages are allowed. Pooch Plunge

Buttefield Crossing Pool
On Saturday September 8, dog owners can take their pups to the Buttefield Crossing Pool for a fun-filled swim with other local canines. Swimming begins at 10 A.M and ends at 2 P.M. The event is sponsored by the Castle Rock Buddy Center. For more information, call Zach Morris at 303-814-7457
Castle Rock Recreation Center Pottery Fest
Saturday, September 22. 10 A.M to 4 P.M. (Competition from 12-2)
Castle Rock Recreation Center
Come out and experience the first annual Castle Rock Pottery Festival. Attendees will compete to make bowls for next year’s Empty Bowl Event and participate in wheel throwing and hand building contests. Come get in on the action, or simply check out the pottery studio. A Raffle with prizes will be held and refreshments will be available. Make sure to wear expendable clothing and have a blast. All proceeds will benefit local pottery programs and the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center.
Family Health and Fitness Day
Saturday, September 29 8 A.M to Noon
Castle Rocks Recreation Center
A great opportunity for your family to get in the fitness mindset, the 8th annual Family Health and Fitness Day will be hosted by the Castle Rock Recreation Center on Saturday, September 29. The event includes raffles for free recreation center passes, personal training sessions, and other giveaways. There will also be a health fair, free blood pressure screenings, and complimentary body fat tests for those so inclined. The action starts at 8 A.M and will run to noon. Get there early, and your child may even receive a free gift.
