DIRECTV takes television direct to the masses. Known as Hughes Electronics until 2004, the DIRECTV Group operates DIRECTV, the largest US direct broadcast satellite (DBS) provider, ahead of #2 EchoStar Communications' DISH Network. The DIRECTV Group provides service to about 14 million customers in the US and more than 1.5 million in Latin America. The company has deals with Verizon and BellSouth to sell voice service.

DirecTV is located in Castle Rock and is one of the bigger employers in the area. They offer good benefits for their employees. The Castle Rock facility delivers digital satellite entertainment directly to the DIRECTV® Satellite Dish Antennas located all across America. The facility shares this task with the Los Angeles Broadcast Center.
