Author Profile: Jessie Manire

Jessie Manire is a Colorado native.  She grew up in Centennial, CO, moved away for college and now lives in Denver.  Jessie works in retail and does freelance writing work.  She first became interested in writing during her time at Vanderbilt University where she majored in European Studies and earned minors in both Art History and Italian Studies.  Jessie worked on her senior thesis entitled Travel, Art and Changing Goals of the Grand Tour: The British in Venice during the spring of 2010.  This was her first experience developing, researching and completing a project completely on her own.  She enjoyed the experience and was rewarded with publication in the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Journal.

Since college, Jessie has been developing her reputation as a writer.  Her first writing gig was for The Blend Denver, a website about all things Denver.  She still writes her blog for The Blend Denver called Scene & Heard about the local music scene (www.theblendd.com).  Jessie loves music and was enjoying her time with The Blend Denver so much that she began looking for more writing opportunities.  She now writes not only Scene & Heard for The Blend Denver but a different version of Scene & Heard for the music blog 1146 Miles (www.1146miles.com).  Jessie also writes album reviews and music articles for The Tune (www.thetunemusic.com).

Jessie also works on web content.  Her project with About Castle Rock is her first large scale project.  She has been working for Condo Domain (www.condodomain.com) writing content for their blog, but with About Castle Rock Jessie has truly entered the industry.  Jessie hopes to continue writing as much as possible about anything she loves.
